First New Taipei City Cable TV Award Announced

The First New Taipei City Cable TV Award was announced on the night of 11/18. Public Service Award were won by Xinshipo, Xintangcheng and Jiahe companies. Mayor Chu gave his speech and said cable TV is closely related to our lives, it does not just provide entertainment, but also as promoter for public administrations and policies.


Mayor Chu wishes to make the Cable TV Award as New Taipei City’s “Golden Bell Award” and hope it will vitalize the growth of cable TV in the city. There are currently 12 cable companies in the cities and Mayor Chu has high expectations for them.

 

The award was organized by the Information Department as it embraces the traditions inherited from Taipei County Era but also possesses innovative and creative ideas. Commissioner Jie-You Lin of Information Department says New Taipei City is looking to elevate the quality of cable TV as he wishes more participants can enter the award in the future.


There are 12 awards including program award, individual award, group award, technique award and creative award. Two hundred pieces enter for competition. City government invited press to choose nominees and winners.


Mayor Chu presented awards for cable company to recognize their effort of transferring the cables underground as well as broadcasting public shows like New Taipei Classroom which promoted education in New Taipei City.

 

The venue of award ceremony was in Zhonghe. Celebrities, experts and press were invited to the event. Banquet and concert were included as programs of the ceremony.
