Mayor Chu Attended International Beauty Festival
New Taipei City Female Beauty Commerce Association hosted the “2011 New Taipei City International Beauty Festival” today (11/28). The association invited Mayor Erik Chu to the event and Mayor Chu expressed his wish to host the event annualy in the future.
The beauty market has been really lively recently according to Mayor Chu. There are about 30,000 related people involved in the market while making more than 10 billion TWD profit per year.
Mayor Chu was delighted to see many gathered for the experience of beauty. He hopes this will make the city and Taiwan a more beautiful place.
Commissioner Jun-Ting Jiang of Department of Economic Development said the festival hosted in Taipei Silicon Valley Conference Center invited celebrities as advocate and more than 600 participants to compete.
First day of the event is domestic competition and international competition is held on the second day. Bridal makeup, banquet makeup, makeup, manicure and pedicure are all included in the contest. 20 physically disabled students also participated in the professional training programs and will compete in the manicures contest.
37 beauty companies had booths in the exhibition. The admission is free and the public is welcome to learn and experience beauty treatment with a chance to win a prize worth 8,000 dollars.
Commissioner Qing-gen Chen of the association welcomed Korean SBS Television to enter the competition as he hope for more nations to enter in the future. He also expressed gratitude to 160 judges and companies that participated in the festival.
