New Daycare Center is going to give citizens more convenience

Sanchong Chongxin Daycare Center was opened today, as New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu said in his speech: 2011 is a very important year because the first daycare center in Taiwan was opened on October 1st, and the one opened today in Sanchong was the second one. Mayor Chu also emphasized that parents are also encouraged to come to the center and enjoy the great service. It is expected that more than 20,000 people are going to show up in a year.

Mayor Chu also added: New Taipei City is the first city in Taiwan to have such service, and both Banchiao and Xinzhuang Districts are also building their daycare centers to give citizens more convenience. Also, the one in Sanchong boasts the most comprehensive service in town: in average one care taker is responsible for five children within 300 pins. There are also painting, reading, and game rooms available at citizens’ service.

Director General of Social Affairs Bureau Lee Lichuan said: Sanchong Chongxin Daycare Center will take children who are under two years old if their citizenship is in New Taipei City; in addition, children between 2 to 3 years old can also apply for admission if they can’t get into schools in time.

Social Affairs Bureau also added that it costs $9,000 NTD for tuition fees if both parents make less than $1,500,000 NTD per year. Meanwhile, New Taipei City Hall will give $3,000 NTD as the monthly subsidy to each family, and $5,000 NTD will be given to poor families to alleviate their financial burdens.

Director General Lee also pointed out that an orientation will be held on December 3rd and 4th; parents and children alike are encouraged to attend. In addition, Xizhi and Sanchong Public Daycare Centers both include parents and children service where only those under six-year-old with parents who are over 18 are eligible to use.
