The Land Bank of Taiwan demonstrates its corporate social responsibility

The Land Bank of Taiwan demonstrates its corporate social responsibility by donating to “Bank of Material Help”

 

To demonstrate corporate social responsibility, the Land Bank of Taiwan donated $1000000 to “New Taipei City Bank of Material Help”. New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu received the donation and presented a certificate for gratitude to the Land Bank of Taiwan on Dec. 8th.

 

Mayor Chu said the underprivileged often fail to qualify for government aids due to their ambiguous social conditions. Therefore, the “Bank of Material Help” is there to help the underprivileged by integrating resources from every walk of life and providing food, money, furniture, etc.

 

General Manager of the Land Bank of Taiwan emphasized that many marginalized people in the society can not file for social assistance due to their inability to meets government’s qualification. The “Bank of Material Help” provides a much more flexible platform to assist those in need.

 

The Social Welfare Department of New Taipei City Government said that resource sharing is one of the fundamental principles of “Bank of Material Help”, dedicated for effectively distributing resources to the underprivileged families. Until November, the “Bank of Material Help” has raised $86860000 worth of fund and goods, with beneficiaries totaling 65000 people. The denotation by the Land Bank of Taiwan will be utilized on the plan for temporary residence service, helping the underprivileged find to their place of residence.
