New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu’s supporting rate remains above 80%

According to the latest survey conducted in 2011 by the Evaluation and Development Commission of New Taipei City, New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu’s supporting rate remains above 70% for his mayoral performance. The majority of New Taipei City citizens are proud of Mayor Chu and he also promised to work harder with efficiency to make New Taipei City a better place. 

 

This biannual survey was conducted in June and November of 2011 by the Evaluation and Development Commission. From the one in November, excellent public transportation, public fire safety, service efficiency, environmental protection, and city’s outlook are ranked the highest at the rates of 82.3%, 75.1%, 73.7%, 72.3%, and 70% respectively.

 

According to the EDC, citizens are satisfied with several Mayor Chu’s developments while he’s in office such as three MRT lines that are going to link three places in Taipei City in the future, faster service, and construction of new roads and bridges are all what make Taipei and New Taipei City closer.

 

Other new developments include a ground-breaking “action first-aid room” where garbage recycling is encouraged, other environmentally-friendly developments also include beautify and plant more trees on the roof and around empty rooms within the city. More efficient and effective service is also why citizens are happy about the Mayor at this time.

 

However, citizens’ dissatisfaction are also addressed, some of which are road and traffic, social welfare, public safety, and educational quality. New Taipei City Government has also ensured that these issues will be dealt with immediately.

 

In general, Mayor Chu’s supporting rate remains almost 70% and his administration team also gets roughly 68% compared with him.

 

The EDC also adds that this survey was conducted by phone between November 23rd to 25th where citizens who participated are all 18 years old; 1,484 participants in total with a 95% of accuracy and 2.54% inaccuracy rate.
